I met Lowell at a Denver Sewing Expo and he has been kind enough to share his works of art. Here is his story and his art: I am a guy 60 years old and on disability. I have always been a hobbyist since I was about 8 years old. I started knitting, crocheting, needle point, counted fcross stiitch and several other hobbies. Then I decided to start quilting. I made my first quilt (lap size) for my sister's birthday 5 years ago. That quilt took me over a month to make which would now take about a week or less. I seem to have the ability to combine colors of fabric with a good contrast and easy on the eye. My quilts have inspried other quilters to improve their perspective on color and pattern choices. My sister who is a professional seamstress has told me she is amazed at what I have accomplished in quilting. Last year while attending a quilt expo in Denver, Colorado, I came across Karen Raum's booth displaying the Artsi2 designs. I purchased one design and after I finished that one I had to purchase additional designs. I gave two to my sister for her birthday this year. They work up quickly and are very simple to complete. I am looking forward to adding more to my collection and to give as gifts for birthday's and holidays. |

Patti is an avid quilter and I thoroughly enjoyed watching her create different projects. Patti transformed the Easter Egg Kits into lovely pieces of art that truly portrayed Easter Egg Art that young and old would enjoy. Patti made the Easter Eggs for her grandchildren. Each egg had the individual child's interests incorporated in the design. I'm sure her grandchildren will cherish the Easter Egg treasures forever. I have included another project that I watched her work her magic on. She had made a quilt and took fabrics that were in the quilt; and worked up 3 different Artsi2 Quilt Kits. She used different fabrics in each kit and the finished pieces were interesting and quite pleasing to the eye. |

I have had the pleasure to get to know Denise. She is talented, adds her own spin to her Artsi2 projects and has a cute sense of humor. Here is her story: I live in Michigan with my Husband and our 3 Chihuahuas. I am a transplant from Boston. I have many passions and enjoy cooking and watching old black and white movies. I have been quilting for about 3.5 years now. I have always enjoyed making most types of arts and crafts. I have been sewing since I was a kid eons ago in Boston. I have lots of fabric and I am really enjoying making Karen's designs. What a perfect way to use up small pieces of fabric that always seem to pile up from past projects! I love the way making up these kits allows one to add personal artistic touches to the pictures so that no two will ever be exactly the same unless it is done purposely. I plan on making several kits for Chrismas gifts. This year my friends will have some new pictures for their walls. |

I purchased three snowmen boards at the craft show at Tagawa this fall. I saved them so that I could have a little girl time with my daughters. One is in college and one is a new mom. I thought I would show you the outcome of our creations. We had a great time. My neighbor, who is a quilter, gave me her Christmas scraps. We mainly just had to purchase orange fabric for the nose. |

Unfortunately, I have not met Karen in person, but have had the pleasure of speaking to her on the phone several times. Karen is the inspiraiton for the Flip Flop Quilt Board. Every time we talk, I leave the conversation feeling inspired. Karen has fun, creative ideas. She is retired from Norwich Public Schools as a para educator. Karen started doing crafts in the 80's, making dolls and pocketbooks. She started quilting about 10 years ago and loves making rag quilts. Karen enjoys doing Artsi2 Quilt Boards. She makes them for gifts and everyone enjoys her creations.

Tanya shared some pictures of her completed boards and I was very impressed. Here is Tanya's story: When I discovered the Artsi3 quilt boards at a local craft show I bought a small Butterfly because it looked "doable," but then my husband added the Kokopelli. It looked complicated and I wasn't sure I could make it. Undaunted, my husband immediately bought the fabrics for it so I had no choice but to try! Since then I've made several more quilt boards, and it's definitely my new favorite hobby. The Kokopelli was a fun experience and we both like how it turned out. It will probably end up in his office. The red cowboy boots are my favorite, they remind me of my past dancing days. I paint, knit, crochet, bead and scrapbook, but I don't own a sewing machine. With Artsi3 quilt boards I'm able to creat b eautiful art with fabric. The boards are made of high-quality materials and Karen's designs are fresh, artistic, fun and very easy to complete. |
